While this is a lovely waterfront park with lots of grass to run around on, the main attraction here are the airplanes. Situated in extremely close proximity to Reagan National Airport, if the planes are landing in the right direction (flying towards the south) you get the most amazing view of the landing planes. It feels like you can almost touch them! The only reason why I left off the “Bubbly Babies” from this one is because of the noise, it can be quite loud.

Other points of interest here:
• Great landing/launching area for boats and kayaks/canoes
• Waterfront with view of DC
• Mount Vernon bike path weaves through this park, so a great place to pick it up, or ride your bike to this park from another (easier parking spot) along the path
• NO kite flying allowed due to the planes
• Only accessible from northbound GW parkway
• Would not recommend on weekends if you wish to park here, it fills up really quickly
